Case Study: Relocation & Decommission

The Challenge: In 2010, the company was presented with a number of opportunities within its technology department including an increase in demand for data centre and desktop capacity as well as the relocation of services away from legacy co-location environments.  A number of critical factors arose from these projects including working to tight deadlines for equipment to be migrated into Acenden’s new environments.  Myfreedom were chosen to support Acenden because of their industry experience in managing complex data centre and IT relocation projects.

The Solution: Myfreedom assigned its team of relocation specialists to coordinate the movement of over 150 servers including carrying out the secure data erasing and disposal of redundant equipment. As well as the data centre hardware, Myfreedom also took responsibility for the disposal of approximately 500 desktop PC’s.

The Result: During a 3 month period Myfreedom successfully completed the relocation of all IT equipment with no impact to service and within the agreed timescales.
